There are 231 numbered pages with 8 pages of advertisements to the end of the book (not mentioning Uncle Remus as required of this first edition, first issue). The pages are very clean and in overall Very Good condition with 7 plates and numerous smaller illustrations throughout; with marks to the blank pages to the front and back where a child has placed some transfers; and the stitching does require attention where the pages have become loose within the book
